Privacy Policy

What This Privacy Policy Covers

This privacy policy relates to use of the thetxspace.com web site at http://www.thetxspace.com/. This privacy policy covers how thetxspace.com (hereafter named 'we') will treat personal information that we collect. Personal information is your information and includes identifiers like your name, address, email address, phone number.

Access Restriction

One of the most powerful features of thetxspace.com is the ability to set access restrictions (who can see what) to each and every part of your profile, events, journal, files and folders and in fact every piece of information that you put onto the website. Although you are in complete control of your access restrictions, we set different defaults for different information to make it easier for you to set up your account. Online networking requires certain information to be made available in order for users inside and outside of the network to find you. By default the following information (your Public Profile) will be made available (searchable inside and outside of the network);

  • Name
  • Position
  • Company Name
  • Industry Sector(s)
  • Town
  • County
  • Country

It is important that we provide this level of information so that other users can be sure that they know the people who are listed in search results and is especially important in order to be able to find people with popular names such as 'John Smith'. In the future we may decide to submit your Public Profile to search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN etc in order to expand your networking potential.

Email

We will never send you any junk emails, nor will we sell or rent your email to any third party. Furthermore we will not send you any information unless you have specifically requested we do so. An exception to this rule will be the following emails;

  • Validation / Welcome email - after you have signed up for a thetxspace.com account we will send you an email with your signup details and instructions of how best to get started using the website
  • Reminder email - after around 48 hours of signing up we will send a reminder email to let you know of additional features of the site which you may be yet to use. We find that it is more useful to send this in a second email to ensure that we don't overload the initial Welcome email

Notification Emails

In order to make the most of the thetxspace.com network it is important that you always know what is going within your colleague network, communities and discussion groups. By default we will send you notification emails of the following events to your primary email address (the one you use to sign in to thetxspace.com );

  • Colleague request - a user has found you on the network and is requesting to join your network
  • Colleague request accepted - a user whom you found on the network has accepted your invitation to join their network
  • Invite accepted - a user not on the network has accepted your invites to join both thetxspace.com and your network
  • Private Message - a user has sent you a private message to your thetxspace.com inbox
  • Discussion group - a group which you have posted in has been updated
  • Owned communities - a community which you 'own' (started) has been updated
  • Permission groups - you have been added to a new permission group by one of your colleagues

Changes to this Privacy Policy

thetxspace.com may update this policy at any time for any reason. If there are any significant changes to how we handle personal information we will send a notice to the primary email address specified in your thetxspace.com account or by placing a prominent notice on our site. If you have questions or suggestions you can contact us at: admin@thetxspace.com
